How to delete replies on X without missing the context

Replies can age differently from original posts because they depend on the conversation around them. A safer cleanup starts by reviewing the Replies tab separately, then deleting in small sessions.

Review replies before deleting

Open your profile's Replies tab and scan for conversations that no longer represent you. Some replies may look harmless alone but confusing without the full thread, so context matters.

Clean replies separately from posts

Do not mix reply cleanup with original-post cleanup if your goal is careful review. Keeping the scope narrow makes it easier to understand what the cleaner is processing.

Run a controlled reply session

  1. Open the Replies tab.

Make sure the active X tab is showing replies before starting CleanMyX.

  2. Use a modest session limit.

Replies can be dense. A smaller batch makes the result easier to audit.

  3. Watch progress counters.

Pause if processed items do not match what you expected to happen on screen.

Avoid common reply cleanup mistakes

01Skipping context

Read enough of the thread to know whether the reply should stay.

02Cleaning too fast

Fast sessions are harder to supervise on long conversation pages.

03Ignoring quotes

Quoted or copied text elsewhere will not necessarily disappear when your reply is deleted.

Clean replies in smaller passes

Open your Replies tab, set a reasonable limit, and keep the session visible.
